Whether you call in to taste our range and find out more about our cheese, a fine range of award winning cheddar cheese awaits you! And if you’re looking for that elusive present for the impossible-to-buy-for loved one, we have some lovely cheese-related gifts to complement our cheese too. You will have a warm welcome here from our lovely, knowledgeable & friendly staff.
VISITOR CENTRE
Open 7 days a week 11.30am – 3pm
Entry is £2.50pp Children under 16 yrs go Free.
Our adjoining Visitor Centre gives you the opportunity to view our working dairy and watch the cheese making live accompanied by an informative video presentation. Come and go as you please to watch the various different stages of the cheese making throughout the afternoon. Tickets can be purchased on the day from our shop with no need to pre-book ahead of time.
Dogs: We welcome Guide Dogs of course, but regret, due to the nature of what we do in our Visitor Centre, we are unable to allow any animals into this area. We do have a courtyard where you can sit with your pets.
GROUP BOOKINGS
Coach parties and private bookings are welcome but pre-booking is essential especially weekends and school holidays.

Coach drop off and pick up point is directly outside our shop, coach parking is available near Gough’s Cave at the top of the gorge but may be subject to a parking charge by The Cheddar Gorge Caves.

This place is a must for cheese lovers. 〰️Good range of different cheddar cheeses. There are many presentations of cheese packs so you can buy for affordable price a nice gift from cheddar. 〰️Lovely staff and nice atmosphere. They offered us to try some cheeses to decide what we preferred to buy. My choice was the pack of vintage, cave mature and oak smoke cheddar.

There’s a reason it’s called cheddar and this place is it! The largest cheese company in cheddar why would anyone go anywhere else!? They are clearly very knowledgeable about their cheddar and what flavours/ herbs to put with it and their chutneys/ jams are delicious- I’ve tried them all! The cheese straws and very strong too unlike most so if you like your mature rich cheese straws they are by far the best cheddar straws in the world! I will always buy from this company when in Cheddar Village and it’s a lovely day out in the gorge too. Highly recommend.
